Entrega de premios oficial de la Etapa 8 de VOR

La gala de entrega de premios oficial de la Etapa 8 desveló varias incógnitas anoche en Lorient. Hamish Hooper, tripulante de comunicación de CAMPER con Emirates Team New Zelaand, recibía anoche su tercer premio Inmarsat MCM Award por el trabajo realizado durante la Etapa 8.

Anoche se celebró en Lorient la entrega de premios oficial de la Etapa 8. Además del reconocimiento a los resultados deportivos de la etapa (Groupama primero, CAMPER segundo, PUMA tercero), se desvelaron incógnitas como el nombre del ganador del premio Inmarsat Media Crew Member Award. Entre los tres nominados, el elegido finalmente sería Hamish Hooper, tripulante de comunicación de CAMPER con Emirates Team New Zealand. Es el tercer galardón que recibe el neozelandés, después de los obtenidos en la Etapa 1 y en la Etapa 5, rompiendo el empate que mantenía con sus colegas Yann Riou (Groupama) y Amory Ross (PUMA).

Otros premios que conocieron dueño anoche fueron el DHL Shore Crew Award, para el director técnico de Teram Sanya, Nick Bice; y el Abu Dhabi Seamanship Award, para el proa del Groupama, Brad Marsh, por encaramarse a lo alto del palo a liberar la mayor en mitad del Atlántico.
