Lorient abre (oficialmente) sus puertas

El primer Race Village en suelo francés de la historia de la Volvo Ocean Race ha abierto hoy sus puertas oficialmente, horas después de la llegada de la flota al penúltimo puerto de la edición 2011-12.

El Race Village de la Volvo Ocean Race en Lorient ha abierto hoy oficialmente sus puertas, horas después de recibir a una madrugadora flota, que tocó suelo francés dos días antes de lo previsto tras completar una fulgurante y dura Etapa 8.

La ceremonia de apertura ha contado con la presencia de M Le Drianm, presidente del Consejo General de Bretaña; Norbert Métairie, alcalde de Lorient; y Knut Frostad, director general de Volvo Ocean Race.

El Race Village de Lorient permanecerá abierto hasta el próximo 1 de julio, cuando la flota iniciará la Etapa 9, última de la Volvo Ocean race 2011-12, de 485 millas hasta el puerto irlandés de Galway.

Programa de competición de Lorient
- 28 de junio: Regata de entrenamiento oficial
- 29 de junio: Regata Pro-Am
- 30 de junio: Regata Bretagne In-Port race
- 1 de julio: Inicio de la Etapa 9
